Meet Lucy! She is roughly 6.5-years-old, an Alaskan Husky, and she weighs 35 lbs. (so she’s smaller than a typical Husky). Lucy was surrendered to us on March 19 because her owners had a new baby. While she had no issues with the baby, she needs a calm environment. She can be skittish for a few minutes until she warms up to you. She’s only had one owner her whole life so being in a shelter is a huge transition for her.
She has been hanging out with Rabi (another dog here on campus) and LOVES the companionship of other dogs. In her previous home they had another dog and they were the best of friends. They also had a cat and Lucy got along great with it. She loves daily walks and is house-trained. At the dog park she often hung with her people more than the other dogs. She is an easy dog to care for and her sweet disposition makes her even more easy to love. If you are interested in adopting or visiting with Lucy, please stop in during normal open hours.
