Peninsula Pet Tip of the Week: Cat Enrichment

June 16, 2020 by Laurel Ciohon

It’s important to provide your cat with enrichment each day to help create a happy and entertaining life! Enrichment can be anything from some exercise with feather wands or a puzzle game such as a treat dispenser. A few free ways to provide your cat with enrichment are:

  • Take a used toilet paper roll. Put a few treats inside, and pinch in the outside edges to close both ends. Your cat will have to roll it around or pick it open with it’s paws and mouth to reach the yummy treat inside!
  • Recently go to the grocery store? Save that paper bag and place it on the ground and toss a toy or two inside. Your cat will have a fun time “hunting” their toys inside, and may even nap inside when they’re done.
  • If you have bubbles or a bubble machine, blow them near your cat. They will have a blast pouncing on them as they float by!
