Fish Creek, Wis. (September 5, 2026) – Peninsula Players Theatre will host a pre-show seminar with Murder Girl playwright Heidi Armbruster on Friday, September 11 at 5:30 p.m. The seminar will offer an inside look at the creation of Murder Girl. Hear about the inspiration behind this Wisconsin-set mystery, the process of developing memorable characters and suspenseful storytelling, and how the play blends humor, heart, and intrigue into a uniquely Midwestern whodunit.
Playwright Heidi Armbruster has Wisconsin roots and splits her time between Brooklyn and Milwaukee. Murder Girl received its world premiere in the 2024 season at Forward Theater Company in Madison, Wisconsin after workshops at Forward Theater Company, Third Avenue PlayWorks, and others. Armbruster’s play, Mrs. Christie was recently produced by Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and her other plays include The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and Dairyland. Her next world premiere, The Boys from Baraboo, will be produced by Next Act Theatre in December 2026.
General admission to the pre-show seminar is free and seating will take place inside the theater prior to the seminar’s 5:30 p.m. start time. Tickets to the 7:00 p.m. performance are available at www.peninsulaplayers.com or by phoning 920-868-3287.
