Peninsula State Park Golf Course (PPGC) has two great summer opportunities for juniors looking to learn about golf. Signups now available for both First Tee Program and William & Carolyn Bell Camp (June 17-20, 2019). As an extra bonus, any children who participate in any of these great programs will get free golf all summer at the PPGC short course and Stonehedge Golf Course in Egg Harbor.
The First Tee Program is open to juniors ages 8-17. This ten-week program starts June 19, 2019 and meets at PPGC every Wednesday from 5pm-6pm. No experience is necessary, and equipment will be provided. This is a great program to help give kids new to golf a proper foundation, as well as improve the skills of those golfers with more experience. The program, which includes on-course instruction from Certified PGA/LPGA Instructors, will also teach life skills like honesty, integrity, confidence, and sportsmanship. This group program gives juniors a great foundation for golf as well as an opportunity to make new friends. The cost of this summer program is $100 per junior. Multiple family members that sign up receive a discounted rate, and scholarships are available.
The William & Carolyn Bell Camp consists of four-day golf school for juniors ages 8-14. Young golfers will get a chance to learn about golf in a fun, educational environment, and will be coached by LPGA Teaching Professional Sylvia Ferdon. Enrollment for the June 17-20 class is now open, and enrollment for the July 8-11 class will begin on June 24. The classes meet from 3pm-4:30pm daily during the camp and cost $30 per junior.
Parents who wish to enroll their children in these great golf opportunities should stop by the PPGC clubhouse during open hours of 6am-6pm. The PPCG is located at 9890 Shore Road, Ephraim, WI. For more information visit www.peninsulagolf.org.
