September 5, 2024 (Ephraim, Wis.) – Peninsula State Park Golf Course is thrilled to invite golfers of all skill levels to its second annual Hickory Golf Scramble, taking place on Friday, September 20, 2024. Following the success of last year’s event, held during the course’s 100th anniversary celebration, this year’s scramble promises to be an even more exciting and nostalgic experience.
Participants will have the unique opportunity to play golf as it was in the 1930s and 1940s. This four-person team scramble will feature authentic hickory-shafted clubs and vintage-style golf balls, offering a true taste of the past. Adding to the experience, a golfer from the Wisconsin Hickory Golfers Society will join each group, sharing their expertise and passion for this classic style of play.
While the use of hickory equipment is optional, all golfers are allowed to bring their own clubs if they prefer. To further enhance the vintage atmosphere, participants are invited to dress in period-appropriate golf attire. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed team, so don your knickers, flat caps, and argyle socks for a chance to win!
Following the scramble, participants will enjoy a catered dinner provided by Klaud’s Kitchen, offering a perfect end to a day of fun, camaraderie, and a step back into golf history.
