With the success of their Friday Fish Fry each year during the golf season, Idlewild Pub & Grill, located at Idlewild Golf Course just south of Sturgeon Bay near Potawatomi State Park, decided to try something new last winter by offering their fish fry year round. Open daily in-season, Idlewild Pub & Grill stays open – Friday’s only! – mid-November thru their opening day April 1.
Idlewild owner of 11 years, Phil Riddle, calls their Friday Fish Fry “phenomenal!” With a choice of perch, cod, or walleye, accompanied with coleslaw, rye bread, and choice of potato (potato pancakes, French fries or potato salad), Idlewild’s fish fry is wildly successful year round.
When asked what makes golf course ownership so great, Phil beamed, “I’m an outdoors guy. You can’t beat looking at beautiful manicured lawns every day. It’s pretty wonderful stuff. And it sure beats sitting at a desk all day!” – Laurel Ciohon
