An artists reception will follow from 2-4pm enjoy a class of Von Steihl wine or Door County Coffee and meet Josephine Gieger and Sharka Evans and see all of our glass artists latest collections. Come to Plum Bottom and explore the many moods of glass and see a multitude of ways glass can be incorporated into beautiful art pieces.
Ms. Geiger’s delightful leaded glass panels bring clouds, skies, trees and water to life with brilliant and dynamic colors. Her contemporary, geometric compositions are influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright and the beauty that surrounds her. Ms. Geiger trained as an architect and lives in St. Paul, Minnesota where she creates one of a kind glass panels in her studio.
Sarka Evans’ beautifully framed mosaics are rich with the greens and blues of the lake and sky. Many of her pieces are inspired by the scenes outside her window and the stunning Lake Michigan landscape. This Green Bay artist’s glass mosaics bring the lovely colors of the outdoors in.
Rose Klemen’s stunning, functional and decorative fused glass works are evocative of oceans, winds, and flowing volcanic fire. Inspired by the natural forces, she uses rich blues, greens and warm golden browns to create depth and mystery. Other pieces delight with luscious reds. Klemen’s newest work will add a bit of beauty to a sunny window, patio or garden!
Kellie Hanson, self taught Michigan mosaic artist, describes working her mosaics to be a delightful glass puzzle. Every piece of glass is placed one by one, creating beautiful scenes of the lake, flowers, rainbows, and dragonflies. Ms. Hanson’s playful colors and textures include glass, tiles, mirror, beads, old and new china, and found objects all coming together to create one of a kind works of art. Her popular, whimsical birds of Door County ornaments are a cheerful reminder of Door County’s wide range of feathered friends.
Join us for an afternoon of demos and conversations with artists Josephine Geiger and Sarka Evans surrounded by the newest work from all out class artists and experience art, finally crafted!
