Fish Creek, Wis. (June 8, 2022) – Plum Bottom Gallery invites you to their Fish Creek location for their Grand Opening Celebration on June 18 from 4–7pm. This show will feature the work of Angela Olson Luberger (Door County Resident), Gail McCoy, Joy Kruse/Wild Prairie Silver, and Stephen Wysocki.
In addition to this wonderful collection of artists, Jacob Beranek will be playing music on the lawn. This event will feature wine from Von Stiehl Winery and hor d’oeuvres from Fresh Personal Chefs.
Angela Olson Luberger is a Door County resident and co-owner of Plum Bottom Gallery. Olson Luberger is a metalsmith known for her beautiful sterling silver creations. She specializes in hand-forged sterling silver jewelry and hand-wrapped gemstone necklaces and earrings. Her jewelry is versatile, timeless, and perfect for every outfit.
Gail McCoy’s collages are created from pages of National Geographic magazines using an innovative process. She manipulates the ink on the page with a citrus solution. Then what was a realistic photo becomes abstract patterns of color and texture. She then sorts through hundreds of these altered pages to find the perfect pairings for a dynamic landscape. McCoy focuses her work on cranes as they are a universal symbol of peace, hope, and healing.
Joy Kruse (Wild Prairie Silver) loves to play with fire, which is a trait of all metalsmiths; She loves to mix fire, metal & stone, which by accident or design makes her a jeweler. Kruse is self-taught for the most part and enjoys making the entire piece right down to every little component. Her inspiration includes the outdoors, kids, flowers, flowing water, dirt, rocks, trees, etc.
Stephen Wysocki loves to paint and is always painting, even when he doesn’t have a brush in his hand. He can’t get away from it; it’s that simple. His mission is to show the beauty in the ordinary, to allow the viewer to experience an image they see every day in a new way. Wysocki gravitates to ordinary scenes and structures. He sees the hard edge contrasts these everyday objects convey and tries to portray that in the hues and shadows of his paintings.
Join the Fish Creek Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, June 18 from 4–7pm. Artists, food and beverages will be present from 4–7pm.
