Egg Harbor, Wis. (August 11, 2026) — Plum Bottom Gallery invites art lovers and Door County visitors to its annual Plein Air Day on Saturday, August 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the gallery’s Plum Bottom Road location. The event will bring three talented artists—Mark Price, Keary Kauzter, and Stephanie Lord—together for an afternoon of painting outdoors, offering guests the opportunity to watch their creative processes unfold against the beauty of Door County.
Plein air painting, or painting outdoors directly from the landscape, has a long tradition of capturing the atmosphere, light, and character of a particular place. Throughout the event, guests will be able to meet the participating artists, watch them work, and experience the transformation of the surrounding landscape into original works of art.
“We love Plein Air Day because it gives our visitors a chance to see the artists behind the work,” said Hannah Fusfeld of Plum Bottom Gallery. “There is something really special about watching a painting develop right in front of you and seeing how each artist interprets the same beautiful Door County landscape in their own way.”
A Special Jewelry Trunk Show with Robert Nilsson
Adding to the festivities, Plum Bottom Gallery will also host a special trunk show with jewelry artist Robert Nilsson, featuring his collection of sterling silver and gemstone jewelry.
Nilsson was a crowd favorite at Plum Bottom Gallery several years ago, and the gallery is excited to welcome him back. His return marks the relaunch of his sterling silver and gemstone jewelry collection, giving longtime collectors an opportunity to reconnect with his work while introducing a new generation of Plum Bottom customers to his distinctive designs.
“We are especially excited to have Robert back,” said Fusfeld. “He was such a favorite with our customers when we carried his work previously, and he is incredibly excited to relaunch his jewelry. We know our collectors are going to be thrilled to see what he has been creating.”
The combination of live plein air painting and a jewelry trunk show makes the event an ideal opportunity to discover new artwork, meet artists, shop one-of-a-kind jewelry, and spend an afternoon immersed in creativity.
The event is open to the public, and guests are encouraged to stop by throughout the afternoon.
