Providing Both Physical and Mental Enrichment for Your Cat

April 23, 2019 by Laurel Ciohon

Disclaimer: Cat not available for adoption

Just like us humans, cats love finding new hobbies to keep life fun and interesting! There are lots of easy ways you can provide both physical and mental enrichment for your kitty from the safety of their own home:

  • Provide a variety of toys and introduce new ones periodically.
  • Provide objects for your cat to explore, such as cardboard boxes, paper shopping bags, and puzzle toys.
  • Position bird or squirrel feeders outside windows where your cat can safely observe them for hours of free entertainment.
  • Train your cat! Just like dogs, cats can learn fun tricks like sit and shake. Training provides a great mental workout and strengthens the bond between you and your feline friend.
