Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (March 23, 2022) – Award-winning naturalist, author and teacher, Charlotte Lukes, will speak on “Door County Wildflowers, Weeds, and Seeds” at the next lecture in the Door County Master Gardeners Association’s Education Series on Tuesday, April 5, at Crossroads at Big Creek beginning at 6:30 pm.
Charlotte, a renowned Door County expert, fills her programs with her stunning photographs and those of her late husband, Roy Lukes. Fans of naturalized gardens will appreciate the beautiful photographs and descriptions of many wildflowers through the seasons, as well as a number of common flowers that produce showy berries in autumn. In 2018, Charlotte and Roy were named to the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame in recognition of a life-long dedication to scientific research and conservation efforts in Door County.
This lecture, presented in collaboration with Crossroads at Big Creek, will be an in-person event at Crossroads from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Masking and social distancing will be required.
Additional programs planned for the 2022 DCMGA series, which may be presented either in person or via Zoom, include:
