Baileys Harbor, Wis. (January 2, 2023) – Enrollment for the Ridges Forest School is open for the Spring Semester. The program begins on January 23, 2023.
The Ridges Sanctuary today announced open enrollment for the Spring semester of its Ridges Forest School. The program is offered three mornings a week, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9-11:30am.
The program is designed for homeschool students, ages 5-8, who enjoy outdoor, hands-on learning. During this program students will hike through and learn from diverse ecosystems, journal, and make personal connections with the natural world. Students will witness seasonal changes, adaptations, life cycles, and more throughout the school year. The emergent curriculum is a student-led unstructured play that supports creativity, focus and attention.
The benefits of nature education range from improved academic performance to increased physical activity to stress relief. “Our Forest School students gain endurance, resilience, and confidence as they hike, run, build, and embrace all kinds of weather,” says Jane Morse, Ridges Early Childhood Specialist.
Tuition is $1,150 for the semester. Scholarships are available. To register or for more information, contact Katie Krouse at katie@ridgessanctuary.org or 920-839-2802 x 101. Visit www.ridgessanctuary.org for more information.
