Playwright Marie Kohler of A Girl of the Limberlost will be at Rogue Theater’s Sunday performance on July 21 at 2:00pm. Come to meet her, see her amazing script in action, and be able to ask questions afterwards in a talk back.
Adapted by Marie Kohler from the classic 1909 novel, A Girl of the Limberlost transports you to Indiana’s once-vast Limberlost Swamp. Meet Elnora, a 14-year-old girl with a passion for butterflies and moths. She loves the Limberlost but longs to attend high school in the city, despite her widowed mother’s resistance. With the help of her loving aunt and uncle, along with a naturalist who shares Elnora’s enthusiasm for winged creatures, Elnora works to find her footing first at school and then at home. Will she achieve her academic ambitions? Will she warm her mother’s heart? Find out in this beautifully visual adaptation of an enduring story beloved by generations.
Performances are July 19–27 at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall located at 2392 County F in Baileys Harbor. Shows on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are at 7:30pm and the Sunday show is at 2:00pm.
