Fish Creek, Wis. (July 3, 2023) – On Monday, July 10, at 8 p.m., Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will present magnetic roots singer Sierra Ferrell in a sold-out concert. The evening will also feature special guest Cat Clyde.
With her spellbinding voice and time-bending sensibilities, Sierra Ferrell makes music that’s as vagabond as the artist herself. Growing up in small-town West Virginia, the singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist left home in her early 20s to journey across the country with a troupe of nomadic musicians, playing everywhere from truck stops to alleyways to freight-train boxcars speeding down the railroad tracks. After years of living in her van and busking on the streets of New Orleans and Seattle, Ferrell landed a record deal in Nashville. Endlessly inventive and compelling, Ferrell pulls from honky-tonk, country, folk, jazz, blues, and even tango to create one of the most powerful live shows in the country.
No Depression called Sierra Ferrell “a timeless artist that is perfect for this time.”
This will be Ferrell’s second appearance at DCA; the second was as an opener for Squirrel Nut Zippers in 2019.
Special guest Cat Clyde hails from Stratford, Ontario. With influences ranging from Etta James to Janis Joplin to Lead Belly, Clyde delivers velvety vocals and a tack-piano, slide-guitar–infused style that transports listeners through the swinging doors of a packed saloon.
Sierra Ferrell’s performance is made possible with support from major sponsors Peninsula Pulse, Salago, Dale & Margaret West, and Wisconsin Public Radio; as well as supporting sponsors The Dörr, Healthy Way Market, Lake Ledge Naturalist, and The Parkwood Lodge.
The show begins at 8 p.m. on Monday, July 10. Tickets range from $28 to $48. Advance tickets are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
