Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (June 2, 2021) – The search for Destination Door County’s (DDC) next President/CEO is underway, the organization’s board of directors announced today. Door County’s tourism marketing and management organization is working with executive search firm SearchWide Global to conduct a nationwide search and has also put together a group of nine local stakeholders to assist in the process of selecting the organization’s next leader.
The search comes as current President/CEO Jack Moneypenny announced last month he is leaving the organization.
As part of the nationwide search process, SearchWide Global will perform a needs assessment with key stakeholders throughout Door County and will use that assessment to establish a profile for the type of person that will best suit the needs of the organization and the community.
The search committee consists of Todd Trimberger (Bliss Marketplace/DDC Board Chair); Tim Guckenberg (Wagon Trail Campground/DDC Executive Committee); Greg Stillman (Foremost Management Services/DDC Executive Committee); Vicki Wilson (Door County Coffee/DDC Executive Committee); Bob Papke (Westwood Shores/DDC Board of Directors); Jeff Lutsey (Waseda Farms/DDC Board of Directors); Nedd Neddersen (IDM Hospitality Management/Door County Tourism Zone Commission); Pam Seiler (Destination Sturgeon Bay/Door County Tourism Zone Commission); Myles Dannhausen Jr (Peninsula Publishing).
DDC’s board of directors has also named Jon Jarosh, the organization’s current Director of Communications & PR, as interim CEO while the search process for Moneypenny’s permanent replacement takes place during the coming months.
