See Eagle Bluff Light Station After Dark During Twilight Tours

Fish Creek, Wis. (September 14, 2026) – This fall, the Door County Historical Society invites visitors to experience Eagle Bluff Light Station in an entirely different way during its annual Twilight Tours on Saturday, September 26, and Saturday, October 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.

For two evenings only, guests will have the rare opportunity to explore the historic lighthouse after regular visiting hours, when the rooms are softly lit, the surrounding woods grow dark and the glow of the Fresnel lens can be seen from the tower.

Throughout the evening, costumed interpreters will bring stories of the lighthouse and its keepers to life, sharing glimpses of the people who once called Eagle Bluff home. Guests will hear lighthouse poetry and stories from the past while experiencing the keeper’s residence in the atmosphere of an autumn evening on the bluff.

Live, period-specific music will fill the keeper’s residence, adding to the feeling of stepping back in time. Visitors will also have an opportunity to climb the lighthouse tower and see the historic Fresnel lens glowing after dark—an experience that is only possible during these special evening tours.

Refreshments will be served in the summer kitchen, and the gift shop in the reconstructed barn will be open during the event.

Unlike a regular daytime visit, Twilight Tours are offered as timed experiences, with tours departing every 20 minutes and space limited to just 20 guests per tour. Advance ticket purchase is strongly encouraged to ensure a spot at the desired tour time.

With only two Twilight Tour evenings scheduled this year and limited capacity for each departure, visitors are encouraged not to wait until the night of the event to purchase tickets. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and younger.

Eagle Bluff Light Station has stood watch over the waters of Green Bay since 1868. Today, the historic site is operated by the Door County Historical Society in partnership with Peninsula State Park, preserving and sharing the stories of the lighthouse keepers and families who lived and worked there.

Twilight Tours offer a chance to experience that history in a way that a daytime visit simply cannot replicate.
