Door County, Wis. (January 26, 2024) – Although owned by the state of Wisconsin, Eagle Bluff Lighthouse has been managed and maintained by the Door County Historical Society since 1960. The planned restoration and reconstruction project we are working on is a significant endeavor and we are committed to moving forward.
Today, we are asking for a small favor. As stated in the press release below, the DNR is seeking public input on a proposed variance to the Regional Master Plan that includes updates to the lighthouse. This variance is crucial for us to proceed with the restoration and reconstruction efforts, ensuring that this historical landmark receives the care it deserves.
Let’s join forces to preserve Eagle Bluff Lighthouse for future generations. Your voice will make a difference in securing the approval necessary to move forward with this project. Contact the DNR today and let them know that you support the variance and efforts to restore Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. You can mail a letter, send an email, or call the number below. Respond by February 8 to let the DNR know that you support the variance and want Eagle Bluff Lighthouse to be restored!
