After many years of coordinated planning, 10,000 sq. ft. has been added to the Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Sister Bay. Store Manager Jay Kita’s excitement is palpable when he talks about the expanded new deli and bakery, and the huge produce section with overhead misting to keep it all fresh. Kita grew up near Fish Creek, so he knows first-hand the convenience this kind of change will bring to local residents. “The wider aisles alone,” said Kita, “will make shopping a much more comfortable experience.”
Reviewing the many improvements, Kita noted the greater variety of food products, a beer cooler that has tripled in size, wine and liquor sections with expanded selections, “and phenomenal freezer space!”
As visiting shoppers increase in the coming summer season, the new “Pig” will also easily accommodate the swelling numbers with prices that are competitive to those at larger stores in other, more urban areas. That’s particularly good news to year-round residents, Kita noted.
