Washington Island, Wis. (March 8, 2021) – BackRoads Events presents the ‘second’ 1st Annual Sól Grass Music Festival. The two day bluegrass festival will be held on June 25-26, 2021 at the Washington Island Campground, 745 East Side Road, Washington Island, WI.
Washington Island is the perfect place for festival goers to enjoy a taste of nature and to take part in an authentic music experience. The island is just a short and beautiful ferry ride off the tip of the Door County Peninsula.
The weekend will be a time to relax and reconnect with friends and family, make new friends, explore the island, look at the stars, pick a new tune, and of course enjoy some amazing bluegrass music. Nothing goes better with summertime bluegrass than a cold beverage and the Washington Island Lions club will be pouring the local favorites from Door County Brewing Company and Island Orchard Cider.
When festival goers are not listening to music they can enjoy all the island has to offer. Festival partner Island Adventure Company offers recreational rentals such as kayaks and stand up paddleboards to enjoy the surrounding waters and electric bikes and UTV’s to explore more than 100 miles of wide open roads.
2021 Sól Grass Music Festival line-up:
For its inaugural year, the Sol Grass organizers have put together a stellar line-up of some of Wisconsin’s most popular classic and progressive bluegrass bands. Chicken Wire Empire, Armchair Boogie, Sortin’ the Mail, Pine Travelers, and one of Door County favorites, The Cherry Pickers. Other featured bands include: The Cody Sisters Band, Chain Station, Miles over Mountains and Humbird.
The music starts at 3:00 pm on Friday and Saturday nights and ends at 10:30 pm. However, the evening does not end there. Festival goers are encouraged to bring their instruments and enjoy spontaneous jams with fellow campers and band members. Even if you do not play an instrument, you’ll enjoy the late night music scene.
