Southern Door, Wis. (November 13, 2024) – The SDHS Student Council and the American Red Cross are sponsoring a blood drive from 9am-2pm on Wednesday, November 20 in the SDHS Gym, 2073 County Road DK, Brussels, WI 54204 (enter at door #11).
Anyone who is at least 17 years of age, weighs at least 110 pounds, or is 16 with parent permission, and is in good health may donate blood. The parent permission form can be found online at www.redcross.org . To sign up to give blood you can do one of following:
- Sign up online at www.redcross.org and search the drop-down menu titled “Give Blood.” You can then search your nearest blood drive (you will need to type in the Brussels zip code 54204) and schedule an appointment at the high school.
- Walk-ins are also accepted, but there may be a greater wait time.
The need for blood is constant, and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds, and most of us will need blood in our lifetime. Remember: Save a life; give blood.
