Steve March-Tormé and Michael Murphy Celebrate the Music of 1970 with Nostalgic “Tumbleweed Re-Connection” at DCA

June 28, 2025 by Laurel Ciohon

Fish Creek, Wis. (June 28, 2025) – On Monday, July 7, at 8 p.m., Steve March-Tormé and Michael Murphy will join forces at DCA (Door Community Auditorium) to perform Elton John’s classic 1970 album Tumbleweed Connection, along with other hits from that year.

Steve March-Tormé is an acclaimed vocalist, the son of legendary crooner Mel Tormé, and host of 91.1 The Avenue, known for his signature smooth style and rich storytelling. Michael Murphy is a Wisconsin-born, Nashville-based singer/songwriter known for his heartfelt Americana and rock-infused compositions.

The two artists’ joint performance, called “Tumbleweed Re-Connection,” centers around a full-album performance of Elton John’s 1970 masterpiece Tumbleweed Connection, as well as a curated selection of other 1970 songs written by James Taylor, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Band, James Gang, Chicago, and more. Together, March-Tormé and Murphy take audiences on a nostalgic journey through one of the most musically transformative years in modern history.

Rob Moore of 91.1 The Avenue called “Tumbleweed Re-Connection” an “incredible band bringing great songs to full life.”

“Tumbleweed Re-Connection” is made possible with support from major sponsor WPR, as well as supporting sponsors Cramer Family Fund and Parkwood Lodge.

The show begins at 8 p.m. on July 7. Tickets range from $22-45, plus sales tax and a facility fee of $2/ticket and $6/order. Advance reservations are encouraged. The DCA box office is located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
