Sturgeon Bay Announces Parade Float Winners, Moo-La-La Winner

December 16, 2019 by Laurel Ciohon

Holiday lights are twinkling, and the snow is glistening throughout the city of Sturgeon Bay. The annual Christmas by the Bay holiday parade kicked off celebrations throughout the city on November 23, with a total of 26 festive float entries.

The 2019 award-winning parade floats were as follows: Best Nonprofit Entry – Sunrise Elementary School, Best Business Entry – JMS Towing, and Best Holiday Spirit – Sturgeon Bay High School Band.

Winners of the 2019 holiday window decorating contest among Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center member businesses was announced November 22. First place was awarded to Wilkins & Olander, second place was Madison Avenue Market, and third place was Novel Bay Booksellers. Thank you to all businesses who participated and for making Sturgeon Bay sparkle this holiday season.

Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center has been spreading the holiday cheer by giving away $1,000 to one lucky person in the Moo-La-La Giveaway. The Moo-La-La Giveaway was a tremendous success thanks to all 24 sponsoring businesses for donating gift certificate prizes, and money toward the $1,000 grand prize. On Friday, December 13, lucky winner Cindy Florian from Sturgeon Bay was chosen to receive $1,000 in Moo-La-La gift certificates to spend at any of the 24 participating businesses. Thanks to the participating Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center member businesses, Christmas came a little early for Cindy.

There are still a few gift certificates from the daily Moo-La-La prize drawings that are waiting for pick up. If you received a phone call that you won, please pick up your prize at the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center office at 36 S. Third Avenue.
