Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (December 13, 2022) – Calling all novice and professional ice carvers! Destination Sturgeon Bay is looking for ice or snow carvers to participate in Sturgeon Bay’s Annual Fire & Ice event, presented by Stone Harbor. All beginner, intermediate, and advanced carvers are welcome for the 2023 carving competition on Saturday, February 18 from 9am to 2pm.
Challenge yourself and get creative! Individuals and teams of all ages are encouraged to participate – no matter the skill level. Participating carvers will receive a goodie bag filled with an assortment of coupons and items to use throughout the day. A panel of volunteers will judge all carvings. First, second, and third place awards will be given out to participating carvers in each experience level. Awards will include a ribbon and a cash prize, ranging from $10 to $150.
There is no cost to participate and carving experience is not necessary for beginner level. All carving levels may use power tools. Basic power tools, such as hair dryers, heat guns, or drills may be used. Anyone under 18 years must have parental supervision. Hand carving tools are available for use from Destination Sturgeon Bay for a $10 refundable deposit.
