Holiday lights are twinkling, and the snow is glistening throughout the city of Sturgeon Bay. The annual Christmas by the Bay holiday parade kicked off celebrations throughout the city on November 17, with a total of 25 festive float entries. The 2018 award-winning parade floats were as follows: Best Nonprofit Entry – St. John Bosco Catholic School and Best Business Entry – Selvick Marine Towing.
Winners of the 2018 holiday window decorating contest among Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center member businesses was announced November 19. First place was awarded to Fatzo’s Subs & Pizza, second place was Cutting Boards and More, and third place was Door County Eye Associates. Honorable mention was awarded to Kevin’s Automotive, T Simon Jewelers, and Northern Territory. Thank you to all businesses who participated and for making Sturgeon Bay sparkle this holiday season.
Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center has been spreading the holiday cheer by giving away $1,000 to one lucky person in the Moo-La-La Giveaway. The Moo-La-La Giveaway was a tremendous success thanks to all 26 sponsoring businesses for donating gift certificate prizes, and money toward the $1,000 grand prize. On Friday, December 14, lucky winner Janet Grota from Sturgeon Bay was chosen to receive $1,000 in Moo-La-La gift certificates to spend at any of the 26 participating businesses. When Janet picked up her grand prize she was in disbelief. Janet was thrilled and exclaimed, “I love shopping local and love how the shopping districts are in walking distance of one another. I can’t wait to spread the love in Sturgeon Bay.” Thanks to the participating Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center member businesses, Christmas came a little early for Janet. There are still a few gift certificates from the daily Moo-La-La prize drawings that are waiting for pick up. If you received a phone call that you won, please pick up your prize at the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center office at 36 S. Third Avenue.
