Ghosts, witches, zombies – oh my! Watch out for the spooky characters you may come across during the 8th annual Thrills on Third event, sponsored by Quantum PC Services, happening throughout the historic Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay on Saturday, October 26.
Costume parade participants should gather at Community Foundation Square (222 N. Third Ave.) at 9:45am for costume judging. The costume parade is open to all, including pets. Floats are not permitted. At 10am, all participants will march down Third Avenue to Martin Park (207 S. Third Ave.). Awards for first, second and third place best costumes will be awarded. A prize for the best pet costume will also be awarded. After the parade, participants are encouraged to walk along Third Avenue to take part in trick-or-treating at participating businesses until 1pm.
Head over to the Boys and Girls Club of Door County from 10am-1pm where they will be hosting a variety of activities including their fundraiser Grills and Thrills where they’ll be serving up burgers, hot dogs and other snacks. In addition to food, they will also be collecting items for their boots and snow pants drive. New and unused items in youth sizes are needed. While you snack on some spooky treats, decorate your very own trick-or-treat bag! All supplies will be provided.
Also taking place at the Boys and Girls Club of Door County is their spine-chilling haunted house. Walk through the haunted house from 10am-1pm and after stop by the Teen Center to watch a selection of Halloween movies. Don’t forget to get your hands dirty in an ooey gooey slime making session at the Door County Library any time from 10am–1pm.
From noon until 8pm, Cherry Lanes Arcade Bar will be having their own Halloween Party for all ages featuring blacklight bowling, spooky decorations and Halloween games. It’s going to be fang-tastic!
