We love all seasons here in Door County, but there is just something so sweet about all the fun we get to have in summer! From fishing and camping, to kayaking, and finding the best ice cream in the county, there is plenty to keep you busy this summer, Check out our favorite summer to-do’s below and make your Door County Summer Bucket List:
Enjoy an Outdoor Patio: Since the pandemic started, many businesses in Door County created incredible outdoor spaces so people could enjoy things outside. Here at Door County Coffee, we completely renovated our patio, adding more seats, more flowers and more room for fun. So grab a cold brew, your best pals and a seat, and enjoy a beautiful day outside, relaxing in the sun!
Hiking Door County’s Many State Parks: From Potawatomi to Peninsula and beyond, there are so many great parks to enjoy. You can hike, bike, kayak, bring a picnic, you name it! Take in the beauty with family and even bring along your furry friends to enjoy the water and hiking. There are so many fun outdoor things to do at all of our beautiful parks. They just completed the brand new Eagle Tower in Peninsula State Park, so make sure to check it out for one of the most breathtaking views in the county!
Cherry Picking: Everyone knows Door County is famous for our cherries, and when July hits, they are beautiful and ready for picking! This is the perfect thing to do with a thermos full of our Cherry Crème cold brew. Grab the kids and pick buckets upon buckets of the best cherries that Door County has to offer!
Enjoy a Festival: If there is one thing there is NOT a shortage of in Door County, it is festivals! Almost every weekend you can find one of our many beautiful cities having some sort of fun festival. From our County Fair, to the Lighthouse Festival or the Fine Art Fair, there is something everyone will enjoy! And who doesn’t love fair food and food trucks?
Set Up Camp: From our state parks, to the many campgrounds all over Door County, there is a perfect campground for every family! If you are looking for waterpark fun, hit up Jellystone in Sturgeon Bay or Harbor Village in Carlsville (a short walk from Door County Coffee, so you can caffeinate every day!). Or if more rustic camping is your type, try Peninsula State Park or Newport State Park which is a Dark Sky preserve, so you will see the best view of the stars in the county. The Northern Lights even make an appearance if you are lucky!
Make Your Own Cold Brew: Everyone loves coffee, but there is just something so tasty about a big glass of cold brew in summer that is so refreshing!
