The Boldt Company to Build Maritime Lighthouse Tower

October 24, 2019 by Laurel Ciohon

The Door County Maritime Museum Board of Directors recently voted to select The Boldt Company as the General Contractor for the Maritime Lighthouse Tower project. The company was chosen as part of a competitive bidding process.

“Boldt has an outstanding reputation and has been associated with several world-class projects in Door County in recent years, including the Kress Pavilion, the YMCA, Peninsula Players, Door County Medical Center and more,” said DCMM Board President Bill Harder. “People associated with both the Museum and these other organizations have nothing but glowing things to say about their experience working with Boldt, including their top-notch professionalism and exceptional attention to detail in their approach to projects. We are thrilled to be in partnership with such an exemplary company.”

“We congratulate the members and the Board of the Door County Maritime Museum on this wonderful investment,” said Bob DeKoch, President of The Boldt Company. “It is a very important project for the community of Sturgeon Bay and all of the Door County region. It expresses a huge commitment and vote of confidence to the mission of the museum. It is an exciting celebration of the maritime heritage of the area. We, at Boldt, are honored to be part of bringing your vision to reality.”

From the indoor and outdoor observation decks at the top, to the expanded event space on floor two, the Maritime Lighthouse Tower at the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay will be a place that inspires, teaches, and instills a sense of pride in the Door County community and our shared maritime history. It will light the way for countless young people who will find inspiration to pursue careers in engineering, environmental sciences, and maritime technologies – all careers vital to the economy of Door County. It will also become a significant economic stimulus that will bring more business and success to many others throughout Sturgeon Bay and Door County.

The Boldt Company, headquartered in Wisconsin, has 14 offices throughout the United States and is one of the leading sustainable construction firms in the country. The firm provides professional construction services to customers in a variety of industrial, cultural and education, healthcare, commercial and energy markets nationwide. (www.boldt.com).
