Fish Creek, Wis. (July 26, 2021) – On Friday, July 30 at 8 p.m., Minneapolis-based duo The Cactus Blossoms will bring their stunning sibling harmonies to the Door Community Auditorium Main Stage.
The Cactus Blossoms (Minneapolis-based brothers Page Burkum and Jack Torrey) offer compelling evidence that the age-old tradition of “blood harmony” (families singing close harmonies together) is alive and well. The Cactus Blossoms’ deceptively unadorned musical approach offers “creative turns of phrase, gorgeous harmonies, and an ageless sound” (NPR).
Rolling Stone Country says The Cactus Blossoms create “rock-solid, freak of genetics harmonies.”
The Blossoms’ 2016 debut You’re Dreaming, a transporting collection of original songs, earned them high praise from Rolling Stone and Vice Noisey, tour stints with Kacey Musgraves and Lucius, and a performance on the third season of Twin Peaks. Though they write with a keen eye toward contemporary life, The Cactus Blossoms’ hand-in-glove harmonies are timeless, in the high lonesome style of The Everly Brothers and The Louvin Brothers.
The Cactus Blossoms’ performance is made possible with support from major sponsors Blacksmith Inn on the Shore, Kocourek Auto, Parkwood Lodge; as well as supporting sponsors Peninsula Pulse.
The show begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 30. All tickets are $30. DCA is operating at a socially distanced 25% capacity. Face masks are required, as the auditorium is on Gibraltar Schools’ K-12 school campus. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
