The Hardy Gallery announces the awards for the 64th Annual Wall-To-Wall Juried Exhibit

Ephraim, Wis. (June 15, 2026) – The Hardy Gallery is pleased to announce the award winners for the 64th Annual Wall-To-Wall Juried Exhibit! From the 149 artworks on display, six exceptional artists have been honored with financial merit awards, recognizing their outstanding contributions. This year’s juror was Rebecca Carlton, an artist based in Fish Creek, and owner of Juddville Contemporary Clay Studio Gallery. Carlton was Juror for all awards except for the Sandy Zapffe Creative Whimsy Award and the People’s Choice Award. The Sandy Zapffe Creative Whimsy Award is a new award for the 2026 season, chosen by long-time Hardy Gallery volunteer and artist Sandy Zapffe. The People’s Choice Award accepted ballots in person from May 22nd–June 10th. 

The winners are as follows: 

  • 1st Place Award (Francis Hardy Legacy Award) $500: William Dais, “The Plan”
  • 2nd Place Award $400: Linda Sheard, “Lake Michigan Blue Vase”
  • 3rd Place Award $300: Hermke Timm, “Whitefish Bay Creek”
  • Julia Van Roo Bresnahan Artistic Achievement Award $200: Patt Huss, “Obscured Self”
  • Sandy Zapffe Creative Whimsy Award $150: Virginia Janssen, “Mirror for Monday Morning”
  • People’s Choice Award $150: Marissa Reneé, “Beside Still Waters”

Honorable Mention Awards were granted to: 

  • Alison A Gates, “Flight of North American Songbirds”
  • Abby Thiede, “Liminal Spaces” 
  • Stephen Wolter, “Snowy Dream”

The 64th Annual Wall-To-Wall Juried Exhibit will be on display until Sunday, July 5th, concluding at 3pm.

The Hardy Gallery is located at 3083 Anderson Dock, directly on the shores of Ephraim’s Eagle Harbor. It is open to the public from May 22 – October 11; 10 am – 5 pm Monday – Saturday, 12 – 5 pm on Sundays, and admission is free. Please note that the gallery will be closed for exhibit installation from May 18 – 21, July 6 – 9, and August 24 – August 27, 2026. All exhibits end on Sundays at 3 pm. The gallery closes for the season on October 11, 2026 at 3pm.

About the Hardy Gallery

The Francis Hardy Center for the Arts, Inc. is a non-profit organization working to support the visual arts and artists of Door County, providing non-commercial exhibition space to local and regional artists of all ages and abilities who may or may not have outside gallery representation. The organization operates the iconic Hardy Gallery located in Ephraim’s historic graffiti covered Anderson warehouse. Admission is always free. Art is the reason.
