Baileys Harbor, Wis. (May 13, 2022) – Scottish Terriers are known for their diehard attitude and on Saturday, May 21st they are returning to Baileys Harbor, WI for the 1st “Parade of Scots” since 2019. WOOFSCOT has been selected as the theme for the Door County Scottie Rally’s 22nd year of assembling Scottish Terriers and their families from across North America. Held in Baileys Harbor, WI this annual event is pivotal to the success of fundraising for Scottish Terrier health research and rescue. Since 2001 this non-profit organization has raised and donated more than $435,000 for Scottish Terrier Health Research and Rescue
Parade spectators can best view the “Parade of Scots” led by Clan Donald Bagpipes and Drums from 1125 am to noon around the Baileys Harbor Town Hall square. The parade route travels east from Juniper Ridge Road on County F/EE, down Park Street to Hywy 57 and returns on County F/EE. The Parade generally arrives at the Baileys Harbor Town Square by 11:30 depending upon the speed of all of those steadfast marching paws. Bringing up the rear of the Parade this year will be a group of Otterhounds . This group of large English hounds were bred for scent and are gathering in Door County this weekend for some AKC sanctioned training .
Although the Parade is a highlight for many, the actual Rally is a full range of activities held at the private home of the Door County Scottie Rally headquarters on Juniper Ridge Rd. Registration is required to attend the Rally including lunch and a full day of Scottish Terrier interaction, and opportunities to learn more about this wonderful, loyal breed that has plenty of attitude in a small package!
