Baileys Harbor, Wis. (May 15, 2024) – The Door Scottie Rally encourages you to don your tropical shirts and bring your ukuleles to join us for the annual PARADE of SCOTS on Saturday, May 18th in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin. The theme chosen for the 24th year of the Rally is “ALOHA SCOTS” with attendees traveling from MN, KS, IL, WI, KY, MI, the United Kingdom and more.
In keeping with our chosen theme, parade viewers can expect to see some Scotties sporting a grass skirt , a lei or Hawaiian shirt as they strut their Scottitude this year! Parade spectators can best view the “Parade of Scots” led by Clan Donald Bagpipes and Drums from 1125 am to noon around the Baileys Harbor Town Hall square. The parade route travels east from Juniper Ridge Road on County F/EE, down Park Street to Hywy 57 and returns on County F/EE. The Parade generally arrives at the Baileys Harbor Town Square by 11:30 depending upon the speed of all of those steadfast marching paws. Donations will be gratefully accepted during the Parade or at doorcountyscottierally.org.
Since 2001 this annual Scottish Terrier fundraising event has donated more than $500,000 for Scottish Terrier Health Research and Scottie rescue, contributed to a pet friendly Door County. and made a significant impact on the economy of Door County.
For years parade spectators have perceived the Parade of Scots as THE Scottie Rally. Although the Parade of SCOTS is a highlight for many, the actual Rally is a full range of activities held at the private home of the Door County Scottie Rally headquarters on Juniper Ridge Rd. Performance events for the dogs such as Barn Hunt, LURE Coursing and Scottie races are held in addition to fundraising auctions. Although 2024 registration is sold out, spectators interested in the breed may request a visitor pass to observe Rally events following the parade from 12:30-1:45 pm with a Rally docent.
