Event Moves to Martin Park in Downtown Sturgeon Bay
Juddville, Wis. (September 28, 2023) – Sturgeon Bay’s Martin Park will become a Writers’ Block on Saturday, October 7, as dozens of published authors who live in or have significant ties to Door County exhibit their books. Running from 9 am – 2 pm, the event is produced by Write On, Door County in collaboration with the Door County Published Author Collective. The event is free and open to all ages. Books will be available for sale and signing by the participating authors.
Authors of children’s books, novels, nonfiction books, poetry collections and more will be present. Organizations such as Door County Library and Literacy Door County will also be on hand. Among the authors taking part are children’s authors Baptiste Paul, Sally Collins, Anne Emerson, and Ann Heyse; Door County Poets Laureate Tom and Ethel Davis; novelists Dan Powers, Valerie Clarizio, Brett Hanson, and Rebecca Zornow; and nonfiction writers Lynda Drews, Bob Ojala, and Judy Ann Ritter.
“For the past two years, we have offered this festival at our home in Juddville,” said Write On’s Founding and Artistic Director Jerod Santek. “We are excited about this move to Martin Park, giving our authors more visibility and taking advantage of walk-by traffic. We think it’s going to be a win-win for all involved.”
