Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (July 22, 2024) – Open Door Pride is pleased to announce that the Third Annual IDEA Scholarship has been awarded to Southern Door High School graduating senior Abiageal Lynn Tooley. Abiageal (Abi) Tooley is a resident of Forestville who intends to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy at a Wisconsin university. Her long-term goal is to earn a Doctorate and become a Professor of Physical Therapy. Abi’s award-winning essay was selected from a field of six well-qualified applicants.
The Open Door Pride IDEA Scholarship Award was presented at the 8th Annual Open Door Pride Festival held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 in Martin Park in Sturgeon Bay.
The Open Door Pride IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equality and Accessibility) Scholarship is a $500 award to a graduating Door County senior who wishes to pursue a higher education degree and has demonstrated passion for diversity and inclusivity, increasing sensitivity, and building community.
This year’s award was funded by Jeff Jara and Marie Squire, and includes a matching grant from Baird
Wealth Management of Milwaukee, bringing the total scholarship award to $1000.
