Fish Creek, Wis. (January 3, 2023) – Wisconsin-based Third Coast Bluegrass, a new band of longtime friends and musical cohorts with deep roots in the Great Lakes bluegrass scene going back to the 1970’s, will be featured in concert Wednesday, January 11, at the White Gull Inn in Fish Creek. Tickets for the 8 pm concert are $30.
The band includes: Marc Edelstein, bass & vocals; Ken Finkel, banjo & vocals; Peter Knupfer, fiddle; Don Stiernberg, mandolin & vocals; Jerry Wicentowski, lead vocals and guitar. Third Coast Bluegrass’s repertoire spans bluegrass classics, originals, and adaptations from other songwriters. The band highlights Wicentowski’s “true to the tradition” vocals, seamless trios and masterful instrumentals. Soloists Stiernberg, Knupfer and Finkel are featured on instrumentals,with Edelsteins’s bass and Wicentowski’s rhythm guitar laying down the essential rhythmic foundation. As Stiernberg says, “Back to the roots of the hard grass with admired colleagues who are also great friends. What could be better?”
An optional pre-concert fixed price dinner will be served at 6 PM. The menu consists of Ragu alla Bolognese, focaccia, wedge salad topped with buttermilk blue cheese dressing, and Tiramisu for dessert.
