Washington Island, Wis. (July 30, 2021) – Gathering Ground has announced that its third annual fundraiser, “Dinner in the Vineyard,” will take place on Sunday, September 12 on Washington Island. The event offers the opportunity to enjoy a five-course dinner and drinks from top local chefs, bartenders, breweries and wineries, featuring local, seasonal ingredients in Gathering Ground’s beautiful vineyard. The evening includes a cocktail hour with passed appetizers, libations and live music by Island musicians. A vineyard tour will be followed by a community, family-style meal featuring fresh seasonal produce and local dishes and beverages prepared by local chefs.
For guests coming from off-Island, note the ferry schedule will likely require an overnight stay on the Island. Organizers encourage guests to find accommodations as soon as possible.
Dinner in the Vineyard participants include Hotel Washington, Roots Inn & Kitchen, Chef Heidi Gilbertson, DC Chocolate Design, Hoot Blossom Farm, Folk Tree Farm, and more.
Proceeds benefit Gathering Ground in support of its educational mission to connect people to their food and the environment through work and play. Gathering Ground’s flagship program is a summer, educational internship in sustainable agriculture for young adults.
