Fish Creek, Wis. (August 17, 2026) – As daylight fades over Green Bay and lantern light begins to glow inside Eagle Bluff Light Station, one of the Door County Historical Society’s most beloved fall traditions returns.
Tickets are now on sale for the 2026 Twilight Tours at Eagle Bluff Light Station, taking place Saturday, September 26 and Saturday, October 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Twilight Tours have become an annual fall tradition at Eagle Bluff, bringing history to life through music, poetry, storytelling, and living history. Held just two evenings each year, Twilight Tours offer visitors a rare opportunity to experience the historic lighthouse after regular hours. For two special nights, the keeper’s residence comes alive with the sights, sounds, stories, and music of the past.
Visitors will meet costumed interpreters, hear lighthouse poetry and stories from days gone by, and enjoy period-specific live music performed throughout the keeper’s residence. Each room offers something different to discover as guests make their way through the historic home.
And the experience doesn’t end there.
Climb the lighthouse tower and see the Fresnel lens glowing overhead. Stop by the reconstructed summer kitchen for refreshments, then visit the historic barn, now home to Eagle Bluff’s Welcome Center and gift shop.
“Eagle Bluff is a completely different place in the evening,” said Amy Frank, Executive Director of the Door County Historical Society. “As the sun begins to set over Green Bay and the lighthouse fills with music and stories, it’s easy to imagine what it might have been like to live here more than a century ago. Twilight Tours have a wonderful atmosphere that you simply can’t experience during a regular daytime visit.”
Perched high above Green Bay in Peninsula State Park, Eagle Bluff Light Station has guided vessels through the waters surrounding the Strawberry Islands since 1868. As evening settles over the bluff, visitors can imagine what this remote outpost might have been like after the day’s work was done and the keeper and his family settled in for the night.
The 2026 Twilight Tours are especially meaningful following the completion of a major restoration of Eagle Bluff Light Station. Guests will have an opportunity to experience the beautifully restored keeper’s residence and tower, along with the reconstructed summer kitchen and barn, while enjoying one of Eagle Bluff’s most popular annual traditions.

About Eagle Bluff Light Station
Built in 1868, Eagle Bluff Light Station stands on a bluff overlooking Green Bay in Peninsula State Park. Only three lighthouse keepers served at Eagle Bluff before the light was automated in 1926. The Door County Historical Society has cared for and interpreted the historic site for more than 60 years, sharing the stories of the keepers and families who lived and worked there and the important role the lighthouse played in Door County’s maritime history.
