Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (July 19, 2023) – Tickets for the Women’s Fund of Door County’s Celebrate Women Luncheon go on sale today, July 19. This annual event will be held on Friday, September 15 at Stone Harbor Resort & Conference Center at 11:30 am. Doors open at 10:45 am.
Lachrisa Grandberry, writer, composer, and performer at Northern Sky Theater, will be this year’s speaker. Grandberry’s keynote topic, titled “Women Who Carry the Light,” describes times of darkness in her own life and the pivotal role that other women played to light the way.
The Celebrate Women Luncheon includes the keynote address, comments from recent Women’s Fund of Door County’s grant recipients, and raffles.
Prior to the luncheon, the Women’s Fund of Door County will also host a complimentary “Foster Care in Door County” panel discussion the same day from 10-11am, doors open at 9:30 am. During her keynote, Grandberry will touch on her time in the foster care system. The panel discussion dives deeper into the foster care system in Door County with moderator Cori McFarlane and panelists Sydney Tlachac, Boys and Girls Club of Door County’s Director of Social and Emotional Learning; Vivian Grair, Door County’s Foster Care and Kinship Care Coordinator; and a local foster parent. There is no ticket necessary to attend the panel discussion.
