Fish Creek, Wis. (August 29, 2026) – On Friday, September 11, at 7 p.m., Tennessee singer-songwriter Valerie June will perform on the Door County Auditorium (DCA) Main Stage. Special guest Katie Dahl will open the show.
Valerie June is a Grammy-nominated, Tennessee-raised-and-based singer-songwriter who combines electric blues, African rhythms, and cosmic atmospherics with delicate soul. June weaves “fresh medicinal downloads of love, sweetness, goodness, and joy” together with songs that have flowed through her for years. She has recorded three best-selling solo albums, written songs for Mavis Staples and The Blind Boys of Alabama, been praised by Bob Dylan, and shared the stage with Norah Jones. Every note June sings is dusted with her distinctive Tennessee twang, but her work is expansive, growing from her psychedelic folk, indie rock, Appalachian, bluegrass, country soul, orchestral pop, and blues root system.
The New Yorker wrote, “Valerie June’s every quiver bespeaks emotional honesty.”
Special guest Katie Dahl, an internationally touring songwriter and playwright who makes her year-round home in Door County, will open the show.
Prior to the show, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Paul Taylor and John Lewis will perform on the Okarma Concert Patio, located across the street at DCA’s new Cramer Exchange facility. Beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, ice cream floats, and snacks will be available for purchase from Chuck & Chichi’s Soda Fountain & Encore Bar.
