Vignes School Reunion Planned

Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (August 7, 2023) – Door County Historical Society is excited to host a Vignes School Reunion, at Heritage Village at Big Creek on Saturday, September 16 between 11 am – 4 pm. This event promises to be an unforgettable day filled with cherished memories, heartfelt reunions, and a journey back in time to relive the days of yore.

The open house-style event will feature a variety of exciting activities and engaging programs for all age groups. Highlights of the reunion include:

• Special recognition of all Vignes School Alumni
• Opportunities to record oral histories, participate in a commemorative artistic installation, and participate in an authentic 1890s school lesson.
• Schoolhouse tours inside the meticulously preserved Vignes Schoolhouse, where alumni can revisit their old classrooms, sit at the very desks they once occupied, and reminisce about the bygone days.
• A curated collection of memorabilia, photographs, and artifacts from the school’s history, proudly displayed by the Door County Historical Society.

The Vignes School Reunion at Heritage Village is open to the public, with a special invitation to all former students, faculty, and anyone with fond memories of the school. Don’t miss this momentous occasion to relive the camaraderie of Vignes School.
