Door County, Wis. (December 20, 2024) – Hundreds and hundreds of donations were collected from the 100+ Women Who Care Door County (100+WWC) Giving Circle at their fourth annual “Warm Hands Warm Hearts” event in December.

Each year, 100+WWC asks two very special Door County youth groups – Boys and Girls Club of Door County and Door County YMCA Community Closet – what is most needed. This year the groups needed basic supplies for Toes (socks), Tushies (undies) and Toiletries!

Chelsea Adams, B&GC, Director of Clubhouse Operations, attended and spoke at the WHWH event: “We are deeply grateful to the members of 100+ WWC for their steadfast support. Their generous donations of essential personal care items – from toiletries to new underwear and socks- addresses a fundamental yet often overlooked need in our community. By ensuring youth have access to these basic necessities, these gifts help preserve dignity and remove barriers that may otherwise distract from everyday learning and engagement. This thoughtful contribution demonstrates how meeting essential needs creates the foundation for greater growth and opportunity.”

Tonya Felhofer, CEO Door County YMCA, also expressed her gratitude, “I am profoundly grateful to the 100+WWC for your remarkable support of our Community Closet. Your generosity and compassion are a true blessing, ensuring we can provide essential personal care items to those in need and bringing hope and dignity to so many in our community. Thank you for making such a meaningful difference.”

This event was a perfect opportunity for the members of the Door County Giving Circle to “Do Good, Feel Good, Gather, and Have Fun!”. Members enjoyed a fashion show and a Pop Up Shop by SPOT, Egg Harbor and Sister Bay. SPOT donated 20% of all proceeds to Secret Santa, a Door County nonprofit organization that anonymously pays heating bills for those in need.
