Fish Creek, Wis. (October 12, 2023) – On Sunday, October 22, at 7 p.m., Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will present “When You Wish Upon a Star: A Jazz Tribute to 100 Years of Disney.”
“When You Wish Upon a Star” celebrates the beloved music of Disney through the lens of jazz. From Snow White to Lady and the Tramp, Mary Poppins and Toy Story to The Jungle Book, popular songs from Disney films have been interpreted and recorded by admirers including Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Dianne Reeves and many more. “Someday My Prince Will Come,” “He’s a Tramp,” “Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat,” and “The Bare Necessities” are just a few of the iconic songs this program will spotlight, performed by two singer/storytellers and the five-piece house band of The National Jazz Museum in Harlem.
“When You Wish Upon a Star” is made possible with support from underwriting sponsor Cynthia Stiehl and The MMG Foundation in Celebration of the YMCA, as well as supporting sponsors Priscilla and Anthony Beadell.
On Monday, October 23, the group will also perform a student matinee performance for Door County students as part of DCA’s Passport Program. The show begins at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 22. Tickets range from $29 to $59. Advance tickets are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
