Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (March 8, 2024) – Children First Development Center, Inc. (Children First) received $50,000 from the Women’s Fund of Door County. The grant will allow Children First to make facility improvements including new flooring and adding a wall to improve efficiency in two classrooms. Funds will also be used to purchase cribs and other equipment necessary to provide childcare.
“Children First is grateful for this incredible investment in our organization, as well as all of the work and funding the Women’s Fund has providing to increase childcare opportunities throughout our community. We are excited to have started renovations and continue to progress towards providing childcare starting June 3rd with a focus of both alleviating our community’s childcare crisis and providing high quality early childhood educational programming. None of this would be possible without the support of the Women’s Fund and we are forever grateful,” stated Kayla Lehman, Administrator of Children First.
