EGG HARBOR (April 27, 2020) — Woodwalk Gallery has announced that virtually every piece of 2020 art in the unique Egg Harbor gallery can now be viewed on its website through an “In the Gallery” page.
Owner Jillaine Burton Seefeldt said the new feature was born of necessity. “This was the only way we can currently continue to reach our patrons,” said Seefeldt, “not only for immediate enjoyment and shopping, but also to build excitement and give everyone something exciting to look forward to.”
The gallery had already been gradually moving in this direction, noted Seefeldt, who said “The Safer at Home situation just meant that the time to do this was now.” Seefeldt still feels patrons will want personal interaction, but presently that could mean a FaceTime or Zoom tour of pieces they might be interested in viewing close-up. “You can be attracted to a particular photo,” said Seefeldt, “but taking the step of providing a live view will help assure someone that they really love what they’re buying.” In-person appointments are also available starting on May 1st.
Seefeldt and her husband Andrew are also the owners of burgeoning custom furniture company Rustics By Design Door County. Now in its third year, the company creates refined yet rustic furniture that uses locally harvested lumber as well as the wood from a 1916 barn. Andrew Seefeldt spent a year and a half taking down a local barn with his hands, a crowbar and a Kubota tractor. Some of that wood went into the new tables at Hatch Distillery and the lobby of the new Northern Sky Theater facility. The duo designed, fabricated, and installed the stacked wood surround for Northern Sky’s large reception desk and logo, which features eight different wood species. The donor acknowledgement walls also use wood from the barn. Besides many made-to-order pieces, the team also sells items through its gallery. The company’s new website (rusticsbydesigndoorcounty.com) just launched and currently shows a variety of past work and new items for sale.
Woodwalk is available by appointment from May 1 until further notice and represents 80 artists working in a variety of media. For more info, visit: www.woodwalkgallery.com, email: magic@woodwalkgallery.com; or call (920) 629-4877.
