I’m so excited to bring a series of winter workshops to Woodwalk! Around 2013, I was teaching elementary art and going to SAIC at night for graduate school. My days were consumed with work and my nights and weekends were full of writing many many papers. I was really craving time with friends and making something with my hands (my brain was tired!) so I started hosting little craft parties at home. We made everything from block print valentines to embroidered felt Christmas ornaments. It is truly my favorite way to be with the people I love- eating good food, drinks, and making something.
Soon I started offering these workshops in spaces around Chicago, partnering with restaurants, bars, cafés, boutiques, and shops to create a really special gathering. I loved seeing all kinds of people show up for workshops- women with demanding careers who were looking for dedicated time to something completely different, the mom friends who needed time away, the curious participant who knew they wanted to add more creativity to their life. My workshops are meant to introduce a new skill in a fresh, approachable way to create meaningful gatherings.
Gathering people at Woodwalk is a dream. I can’t wait to welcome you to the warm and cozy loft for some winter workshops.
WINTER WORKSHOPS
These workshops are meant for all skill levels and are created to introduce a medium in an approachable, fun way. By yourself, with a friend, or on a date, workshops provide an intentional way to gather with others to make something by hand. All are complete with little bites and a drink.
