World-Class Musicians Coming to Door County: Tickets on Sale for Peninsula Music Festival’s Spectacular 2026 Season

March 13, 2026 by Laurel Ciohon

Door County, Wis. (March 12, 2026) – Two-time GRAMMY Award-winning violinist James Ehnes, two-time GRAMMY Award-winning pianist Michelle Cann, and GRAMMY Award-winning mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung are among the artists featured in the Peninsula Music Festival’s (PMF) 2026 summer season, running August 4–22 at Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek. The nine-concert series brings an extraordinary roster of world-class soloists and rising stars to the intimate, one-of-a-kind setting that has made PMF a beloved destination for classical music lovers across the Midwest and beyond. Tickets are on sale now.

In an era when world-class performances are typically reserved for the concert halls of Chicago, New York, or Vienna, PMF offers something those grand venues simply cannot: the chance to experience internationally acclaimed artists in a uniquely personal and intimate atmosphere.

“This season represents everything the Peninsula Music Festival stands for—extraordinary artistry, breathtaking music, and an intimacy rarely experienced with musicians of this caliber,” said Rune Bergmann, Music Director and Conductor. “When you sit in the Door Community Auditorium and hear a GRAMMY-winning soloist performing, it changes how you experience music forever. We have built something truly special this summer, and I cannot wait to share it with our audiences.”

Audience favorites and global stars alike will perform just feet away from the front row, a hallmark of the PMF experience. Highlights include the return of violin superstar James Ehnes—a two-time GRAMMY winner performing on the legendary 1715 “Marsick” Stradivarius—piano virtuosos Stewart Goodyear and Michelle Cann, and a monumental season finale featuring GRAMMY Award-winning mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung alongside the Apollo Women’s Chorus and the Appleton Boychoir.

This season’s nine concerts span the full range of the orchestral experience — from jazz-infused Americana and all-Scandinavian folk celebration to a John Williams pops extravaganza, an all-Mozart evening, and a sweeping Mahler finale. And while the guest soloists draw from the world’s most prestigious stages, some of the season’s most electric moments will come from within PMF’s own extraordinary ensemble — with principal musicians stepping into the spotlight as featured soloists across multiple evenings, performing everything from a haunting Sibelius tone poem to the sonic grandeur of Vivaldi and Respighi.

“The Peninsula Music Festival exists to bring the world’s finest musicians to the community we love,” said Lisa Harper, President and CEO. “This season is a testament to what makes PMF so unique—nowhere else can you experience talent of this caliber in such an intimate, welcoming setting. We are so proud of what we’ve built for 2026, and we invite everyone—longtime music lovers and first-time concertgoers alike—to be part of it.”
