Scholarships and Hybrid Options Available for Writing On The Door
Juddville, Wis. (July 5, 2023) – Write On, Door County presents Writing On The Door, a series of three one-day writing intensive classes with award-winning faculty, August 7 – 9. The series features poetry with Michael Kleber-Diggs on Monday, August 7; nonfiction with Staci Lola Drouillard on Tuesday, August 8, and fiction with Peter Geye, on Wednesday, August 9. Optional one-on-one critique sessions are offered the following day of each intensive.
The three faculty members will offer a public reading on Tuesday, August 8, 7 pm. The reading is free and open to the public. All programs take place at Write On, 4210 Juddville Rd., Fish Creek. Participants may take part in the workshops virtually if needed; the reading will be in-person only.
Tuition for each intensive is $350. Scholarships are available to those for whom cost is a barrier. To request a scholarship, email info@writeondoorcounty.org or call 920-868-1457.
Michael Kleber-Diggs is the author of the award-winning collection Worldy Things, published by Milkweed Editions in 2021. He is a 2023-25 Jerome Hill Artist Fellow. In addition to poetry, he writes essays and literary criticism. Staci Lola Drouillard is a descendant of the Grand Portage Band of Ojibwe. She is the author of Walking the Old Road: A People’s History of Chippewa City and the Grand Marais Anishinabe and Seven Aunts, which received the 2023 Minnesota Book Award for Memoir. Peter Geye’s sixth novel will be released next year. Previous novels include Lighthouse Road and Wintering.
