By Al DeGenova, Executive Director, Write On Door County
Ten years! Write On is proud to celebrate this significant anniversary, but we are even more excited to look forward to future plans and dreams that can only happen with your support.
During this holiday season we find ourselves experiencing a deep sense of gratitude to you. Your important support and participation are invaluable. With registrations up 26% in 2023 it is because of your generosity that Write On has continued to grow and reach an ever-widening audience in meaningful ways.
Your continued financial support of our mission is more critical than ever as we continue to offer nearly 70% of our programming free to the community.
You may have already received an appeal letter from Write On regarding our future plans and our need for your continued support. And if you’ve already sent us a gift, thank you sincerely.
As we set our course for 2024, here are some of the key initiatives that will mark the beginning of Write On’s second amazing decade:
- Expanded youth programs in 2024
- Bringing more diverse programming to Door County through our Residency Program and the creation of a Residency Board
- Three literary conferences/festivals in 2024: Young Writers Conference (February), Washington Island Lit Fest (September), and Writing On The Door (two days, cross-genre in November)
- Our completed Writer’s Walk, 59 beautiful acres of groomed hiking trails featuring our new Olson Family Memorial Council ring with sculptural pergola that pays homage to the original farm house that lived on our property
We invite you to stop by with your journal or laptop, pour yourself a cup of coffee, pull a book off our library shelves, sit down by the fire, and give yourself the gift of creative peace. No reservation required.
Thank you for including Write On, Door County in your year-end giving as we continue to grow into the future, together, in ways we are still discovering. Looking forward to very happy and exciting new year!
