DCA Presents Coffeehouse Concert by Green Bay Band Pegasis; Morning Lecture on Fitness and Wellness

January 26, 2026 by Laurel Ciohon

Fish Creek, Wis. (January 26, 2026) – Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will continue its 2026 winter season on Saturday, February 7 with two events: a 10 a.m. “Door County Talks” lecture about fitness and wellness by Dr. Rory and Tess Johnson, and an evening Coffeehouse Concert by Green Bay band Pegasis at 7 p.m. Gibraltar student jazz trio Miles Richmond, Luke McCormack, and Blake Ouradnik will play an opening set before the evening performance.

Door County Talks: Fitness and Wellness with Dr. Rory and Tess Johnson

Dr. Rory and Tess Johnson’s 10 a.m. lecture will be the third 2026 installment of DCA’s annual “Door County Talks” series. The entire 2026 series, which is sponsored by Cynthia and Tom LaConte, explores the concept of “blue zones,” a term referring to regions in the world where people live to or beyond age 100 with few of the degenerative aging diseases prevalent in many parts of the world. Attendees are encouraged but not required to watch the Netflix series, Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones, before attending the events.

Tess Johnson is a dedicated nutrition coach for the Door County YMCA’s Weight Loss Program, where she has been leading diabetes prevention and weight loss classes for nearly eight years. Her husband, Dr. Rory Johnson, provides family medicine services at Door County Medical Center’s Sister Bay Clinic. At DCA, the Johnsons’ talk will focus on fitness and wellness.

All Door County Talks begin at 10:00 a.m. Lectures are free to the public; freewill donations are encouraged. Coffee and blue zone-friendly breakfast items will be available for purchase. Each talk will include a short break, a post-talk question-and-answer session with the speaker, and a chance to meet and reconnect with the year-round Door County friends and neighbors.

Coffeehouse Concert: Pegasis

At 7 p.m., Green Bay-based band Pegasis will perform the third Coffeehouse Concert of this season. These concerts show off the cozy intimacy of the DCA lobby and feature some of the best musical talent in northeast Wisconsin.

Pegasis creates shimmering vocal harmonies, pulsing rhythms, tight arrangements, musical virtuosity, and vibrant dynamics, providing lush soundscapes that captivate all types of listeners and make the complex sound (and look) easy. Hopping between jazz, funk, R&B, pop, world, Latin, and everything in between, Pegasis offers audiences a diverse and eclectic vibe, with lyrics in both English and Spanish.

As part of this year’s Coffeehouse Concert series, each show will feature a Door County student opening act. On February 10, jazz trio Miles Richmond, Luke McCormack, and Blake Ouradnik (all Gibraltar students) will open.

All Coffeehouse Concerts take place at 7:00 p.m. in the DCA Fireside lobby. Tickets are $20 each and advance reservations are strongly suggested. Coffee and bakery will be available for purchase from Happy Coffee, also the sponsor of the Coffeehouse series.

Audiences should also mark their calendars for DCA’s Passport Program performance of Chinese acrobatic troupe The Peking Acrobats, which will take place February 10.

DCA is located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
