Fish Creek, Wis. (August 19, 2024) — Peninsula Music Festival (PMF) is going into its final week, with only three performances remaining that collectively promise to be a fitting conclusion to this celebrated season. The early concerts have been met with widespread acclaim by the Door County community, each showcasing the festival’s commitment to excellence in classical music. As the grand finale approaches, there’s still time to experience world-class symphony performances in beautiful Door County, Wisconsin.
On August 20, don’t miss a special evening with internationally renowned violinist Philippe Quint, who will both lead and perform Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. This rare combination of masterpieces promises to be a highlight of the festival.
Following this, on August 22, the festival will present A Night at the Movies, this season’s highly anticipated “Pops” selection. Featuring works by Leonard Bernstein and Ennio Morricone, the evening will be brought to life by guest artists Alexandra Rose Hotz, soprano, and Xuyue Qing, tenor.
The festival concludes on August 24 with Titan, a powerful final concert. The evening will feature Strauss’s Four Last Songs, performed by the brilliant soprano Jacquelyn Wagner, followed by Mahler’s magnificent Symphony No. 1, entitled Titan. Titan will be a performance that promises to be a fitting finale to a remarkable season, said Lisa Harper, PMF’s executive director.
“The 2024 season has been absolutely magical,” Harper added. “The attendance has been our highest in several years, and the local community has come out in a really enthusiastic manner. Our conductor, Rune Bergmann, is in his second year at PMF and it feels like our audiences are becoming more and more aware of how he charismatically leads our wonderful orchestra. If you haven’t attended a concert yet this season, I encourage you to get tickets and experience world-class music in Door County yourselves.”
All concerts are held at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek, Wisconsin. Tickets for these final performances are limited and selling quickly.
