The society’s annual, family-favorite Christmas-themed Planetarium Show returns on December 20. Shows begin at 7:00 p.m. and repeat approximately every half hour throughout the evening. If the skies are clear and winds are calm, members will also open the dome of the Leif Everson Observatory for night-sky viewing through the observatory’s large telescope. The Learning Center will be closed on New Year’s Eve, but the trails are open and, following a decades-old tradition, we will offer our “Last Sunset of the Year Hike.” The hike will start at 3:45, and with clear skies, participants may be able to watch the sun set on 2025 at 4:18 pm.
